Title : Tissue repair using Australian native essential oils and extracts

Introducing Australian native essential oils and extracts that support skin tissue repair, with a focus on clinical and therapeutic outcomes in the healing of damaged tissue.

Attendees will gain a clearer understanding of treatment approaches for different burn depths, how burns affect the layers of the integumentary system, and the clinical impact of tissue damage. We cover how selected essential oils and extracts are developed into prescriptive product formulations to help prevent infection based on burn depth, and how individual oils and extracts can support and accelerate the tissue-repair process.

We will also cover key factors such as chemotype and the chemistry of essential oils and extracts, and why specific compounds can influence healing and help reduce the risk of microbial invasion in burn wounds. Participants will review essential oil and extract profiles and follow a real client’s clinical progress, including the treatment protocol and the formulations used throughout the course of care.

In 2008, she undertook the task of editor and publisher of the industry magazine, “Aromatherapy Today International Journal”, which assists Aromatherapists with their continuing education in the aromatherapy realm, and Deby provides an in-depth profile of an Essential Oil in each volume.

She instigated the first Aromatica Australia conference in 2015, well attended by therapists from Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan and Japan. As a result she continued running the conferences in 2017, 2019, 2021, 2023 and plans are already underway for 2027, which will be face to face conference.

Deby is at present recognised as an expert in Australian native essential oils and has many case studies demonstrating their efficacy and benefits in a clinical environment, she educates predominantly in the use of Australian Essential oils.

In 2019, Deby commenced to write a book on Australian Essential Oils, which was launched at Aromatica 2021 and is being sold worldwide.

Deby's passion is Australian Clinical Aromatherapy, utilising Australian products where available and promoting small providers with quality products for the industry as well as teaching at colleges both locally and globally.
